The all new BMW M3 is available in either a sedan, coupe or retractable-hardtop convertible. Powertrains and Performance

The M3 is powered by a  4.0-liter  V8 engine that produces 414 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, and the M DCT seven-speed dual-clutch automated-manual gearbox is optional.

EPA fuel economy estimates 14 mpg city/20 mpg highway and 16 mpg combined for all models except the convertible with the six-speed manual.

Safety

Standard safety features on the 2009 BMW M3 include front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, antilock disc brakes, traction control and stability control.
