BMW of Macon is offering eco-conscious consumers a $4,500 credit on their popular diesel models. 

The $4,500 “eco-credit” will go toward the purchase of either a new BMW 335d or an X5 xDrive35d for Georgia BMW buyers.  BMW of Macon’s Eco-Tax credit aims to reward buyers who purchase fuel efficient cars.  

The BMW 335d and X5 xDrive35d are the most fuel-efficient vehicles in their class.  The 335d offers drivers acceleration from 0–62 mph in 6.2 seconds, an incredibly thrilling experience for any auto enthusiast.  Similarly, the BMW X5 xDrive35d rivals with acceleration speeds from 0–62 mph in just 7.2 seconds.

The provisional fuel economy ratings of the 335d are 23mpg city and 33mpg highway. In the substantially heavier X5 the numbers still impress at 19/25.  The new BMW Diesel cars showcase BMW’s BluePerformance technology.  Like its German competitors, BMW is a major player in the diesel car market. BMW has been producing diesel engines since 1983.  Though, this is the first time that BMW has brought a diesel model to the U.S.
